Take good care of your sensitive skin this winter

Every day more and more people consult a dermatologist about complaints such as skin redness, hives, pimples, dryness or tightness. These symptoms are common in sensitive skin and may occur continuously or may appear occasionally due to factors such as stress, pollution, climate change or the use of certain cosmetics.

The Dr. Virginia Sánchez distinguishes between 4 types of sensitive skin:

Sensitive skin with a tendency to couperose: this is a skin with a tendency to dilation of blood vessels, episodes of sudden transient redness and swollen red bumps. In these cases, sensitive skin is aggravated by sun exposure, high temperatures, alcohol consumption or spicy foods.

Sensitive skin associated with seborrheic dermatitis: there is slight flaking and redness especially around the mouth, in the eyebrow area and hairline. Sometimes similar alterations are also observed in the scalp, producing “dandruff”.

Sensitive skin on dry skin or atopic dermatitis: a peeling different from the previous one appears. To the touch the skin is “scratchy” and often red, especially on the lips, cheeks and forehead. In these cases, any moisturizer applied seems insufficient.

Sensitive skin related to the use of cosmetics: this is called irritant or allergic contact dermatitis. The cause of the problem is the use of cosmetics that cause irritation or allergy to certain people.

If you find yourself in any of these situations it is important that you give your skin the proper care as your skin needs more attention than others. Besides, these winter colds don’t help….

Recommendation: Choose the right cosmetics as a poor choice can further exacerbate symptoms and cause you greater discomfort.

It is ideal for this type of skin to use creams that do not contain active treatment ingredients, fragrances, preservatives or colorants.

TUDERMA Moisturizing Cream is ideal for this type of skin as it is paraben-free, contains hypoallergenic fragrance and its soothing, anti-inflammatory and healing effect favors its care. This is thanks to components such as those contained: aloe barbadensis, bisabolol, calendula, boswellia serrata gum or centella asiatica.

Other ideal cosmetics to use if you have sensitive skin are for example Uriage Thermal Spring Water, Roseliane anti-redness mask. For daily cleansing you can treat your skin with products such as a micellar water or a soothing shower gel.
