Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally present in all living beings, occupying the spaces between tissue cells and supporting structures.

About 56% of the total amount of hyaluronic acid in the body is found in the skin. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for giving structure to the skin, and over the years, it gradually decreases. For this reason, it is used in skin rejuvenation as it restores lost thickness and elasticity. It is one of the safest and most performed aesthetic treatments in the world.

Hyaluronic acid is introduced into the skin with a fine needle intradermally in small quantities. There are different types of hyaluronic acid at different concentrations and cross-linking processes that are used differently, depending on the desired objective and the area to be treated. To avoid discomfort, topical anesthesia is applied beforehand. Once the treatment is finished, the patient can immediately return to their normal routine.
Where is it applied?
  • Flaccidity of cheeks and neck: to stimulate collagen and deeply hydrate the skin. Three sessions are needed at 1 month intervals.
  • Lifting of the middle third of the face o Lifting effect: tissues are repositioned in the lateral area of the face to lift the cheeks and cheekbone avoiding overfilling.
  • Central facial area: reducing the depth of the nasolabial folds, marionette wrinkles in the chin area or the suborbital furrow (under-eye area) and lips: with different objectives such as increasing volume, redefining the profile or increasing lip projection.
  • Perilabial wrinkles also called “bar code” can be smoothed with hyaluronic acid, as it acts as a support so that these wrinkles are not marked when speaking or gesturing. In this area it is essential to apply a small amount of hyaluronic acid so that the result is completely natural.
  • Other indications: filling of flattened cheekbones, earlobes, correction of scars and surgical defects, etc.
How long does the effect of hyaluronic acid last?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance and therefore absorbable. It lasts approximately 12 months, depending on the area and the type of hyaluronic acid applied.
